Funny Moments by Students

I was talking with fellow teacher and saying a few of the funny moments that I have recently have. She told me to write them down, but because I am not good at keeping a journal, I thought this would work.
The first one that comes to mind was when we were working on a few projects that needed glue. One boy who was looking forward to using the Elmer's glue later on that day and decided he wanted to have hot glue, so he sat on it. You can guess what happened. Yep glue all over his pants and chair.
Another was from a little girl while standing in lunch line asks "Teacher, do you have any kids?" I responded with "No", I guess she did not hear me so she asked again, "Teacher do you have any kids?" This time I responded and said "Yes, I have twenty-two" while pointing to the line. That answer did not satisfy her so she asked again "Teacher, do you have any kids, I mean like have you had a baby?" I responded with "No, I do not". She had that look, the one where the wheels are turning so I asked "Why" and she says "Oh you just have the same hair cut as my mom". Apparently I need a new hair cut.
Spring is definitely in the air! There are many crushes going on with in the class. I enjoy overhearing conversations that say "Will you hold my hand", "Can I get a hug", "I like him because he's a little on the adventurous side".
That's all for now, but I'll post more as I remember them.

Catch-Up

I'll be the first to admit that I'm a slacker of updating our blog. So i'll do a quick run down of 2009. We both consider 2009 to be a great year and a busy one. The hightlight was being married in March in the Manti temple. We had a great summer! We enjoyed living in Cedar. We were blessed with being able to see our families lots. We had fun taking a week off work to spend the first few days with Ashley's family in Minersville and taking off for a short visit to Blanding. We had a lot of fun camping there. Ashley was ablt to catch her first fish, it was a cat fish. Devin was a tropper all summer and commuted from Cedar City to St. George for work. In August we moved to St. George. We love it in St. George and have been enjoying the cool winter and not freezing. Our family was busy with both of us going to school, but we still made a few trips to the mountains.

We had the oppertunity to go to many weddings in 2009. They were all fun, we enjoyed seeing our family and friends at them. When we went to one in Las Vegas, we both were able to attend our first PBR (Professional Bull Riding). We had a lot of fun at that. We also took the Marshall Family Picture on that trip and gave Ashley's parents their birthday present to the NFR (National Finals Rodeo). So the first weekend of December we took a family trip to Las Vegas again. It was a fun trip the night we went to the rodeo Cody Wright won the go around, which was really cool because he is a family friend from Milford. So we went to the Buckle Awarding Ceremony after, which was another first for us both.

In November Devin's cousins were playing in the 2A state finals. It was this same game a year earlier when I met the family. We had a lot of fun with everyone in town. It's always fun to gather with family and listen to old stories. Joan, Brandon, and Brandon's kids stayed with us. Went made a quick trip to Grafton, an old qhost town by Zions. We always have a lot of fun exploring, especially when Joan comes and visits.

We enjoyed seeing both of our families over the Holidays. Especially having Joan, Trisin, Corey, and their girls with us to bring in the new year.

The year 2010 got off to a busy to start, but we have lots to look forward to this year. One of my goals is to post more than every s1x months.

Quick Update!

Just so you know we are still alive and doing well! We appoligize for not updating in several months. They were all fun and busy internetless months. We will add pictures soon of our summer. For now we are both busy being college students and working. Devin is working on his Masters through Utah State University and still working for the Forest Service. Ashley is almost half way through her semester and internship. She is teaching second grade at Three Falls Elementary in Hurricane. The first 60 days is unpaid student teaching, but come November will be a full time teacher. We are loving our new apartment in St. George, but not the heat!

Easter

We had a great Easter Weekend! We went to Layton and stayed at Alicia's. Friday night we colored eggs and met our new niece Kylie Alicia Jensen, she is so cute! Saturday we went to the Easter Egg Hunt, Wheeler farm, and the Myan for dinner. It was such a fun and busy day. We woke up Sunday morning to find what the Easter Bunny brought us, we had fun looking for our baskets. We celebrated Devin's 32 Birthday with his family on sunday. On Monday, I had to run to Minersville, and I got to see the kids new toy, they got a new motorcycle. Little Gus was especially excitted along with the girls. It was a Great weekend!

Busy Days!

On Friday, March 27, 2009 we had the opportunity to go to my brother Gus and his families sealing in the St. George Temple. It was a really neat experience that we were glad to be able to witness. The kids were so sweet and excited, it was a very special evening for our family.

Then on Friday, March 28 we had our other reception in Magna. It turned out so pretty and was a lot of fun. We had fun being with both our families again and seeing more family and friends. March was a big party for us!

On this past weekend on April 5 we Celebrated Ashley's Grandma Betty Marshall's 80th Birthday. It was a Great Party, everyone enjoyed being together and being able to visit. It was fun looking at old scrap books and seeing everyone when they were young, it was a great walk down memory lane. Months like our past one remind us how special and sweet are families are. I only got a few pictures, one is of Cherstie helping Aunt Ruth hold little George, and the other is of Grandma Betty and all her Great Grand Children.

On Sunday April 5, we also got a new niece Kylie Alicia Jensen, 6 lbs 12 oz and 19 inches long. Welcome Kylie! Pictures coming soon! And last of all Sunday night when we got home we found the truck and sidewalk decorated.

San Diego

We went to San Diego March 18 - 22. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay and Marina. It was an amazing place, our room or rooms shall we say were bigger than our house, it had a kitchen and down the hall a living room and dinning table complete with six chairs and a large couch including a 32 inch flat screen TV. In the next room over was the bedroom with another 32 inch TV and a huge bathroom, I have never had such a big bathroom in my life. Both the bedroom and livingroom had a deck with great views overlooking the pool area and common area. There were three large pools with slides and a hot tub, there was a nice grass area with a fire place. Needless to say we enjoyed our stay there very much. We enjoyed sight seeing, especially Old Town, the USS Midway, the Beach, and of course the Temple. We thought we would spend a little time at each of these, but we ended up enjoying them so much we spent many hours at them all. The USS Midway was a neat history lesson, we both enjoyed seeing what life out to sea was like, especially being that Devin has a cousin in the service now and Ashley's Grandpa served in the Navy as well. The ship and planes were really neat. We had a great trip!
